The Tasmanian Liberal Government is lowering electricity prices for individuals and businesses and we are also delivering more local jobs to support the Tasmanian economy.
Nine new employees started at Momentum Energy’s Cambridge call centre this week which brings the total number of staff at the Cambridge site to 92.
The jump from 20 staff to 92 delivers on the Tasmanian Liberal Government’s
election commitment to deliver more than 70 jobs and is the result of a well-planned transition in just under two years, ahead of schedule. This has been achieved by expanding the types of roles available from exclusively sales to sales provisioning; service; retail IT; learning and development; people and culture; workforce management; credit; operations and change management.
Cambridge has also undergone a significant modernisation with local contractors used for a major refit increasing the total capacity of the call centre by 30 seats.
In addition to the growth in Tasmanian jobs at Momentum Energy, Hydro Tasmania has invested locally, spending $128.1 million on local suppliers and continuing to support Tasmania by returning an annual profit of $217 million for 2020-21.
Hydro Tasmania has also continued its strong backing for the Tasmanian community with our dedicated COVID-19 Recovery Program supporting local business, not-for-profits and community groups with more than $200,000 in funding, bringing their total COVID-19 program funding to $450,000.
