The congestion-busting $9.9 billion Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project has reached a significant milestone with the release of the project’s Reference Design for community feedback.

Today’s release shows for the first time the design of the project in its entirety and how motorists will travel between the River Torrens and Anzac Highway, including:

  • More than two kilometres of twin three-lane tunnels;
  • The avoidance of impact on heritage sites in Adelaide’s inner-west;
  • The extent of the Northern Tunnels, with entry and exit points at Hilton and Torrensville; and
  • East-west connectivity maintained and enhanced at James Congdon Drive, Richmond Road, and Everard and Barwell avenues.

This year’s best young spellers met with Prime Minister Scott Morrison today after winning the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee in June.

The Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee is a national spelling competition for school children from Years 3 to 8 that aims to promote and encourage students’ oral and written literacy and spelling skills.

The 2021 national winners are:

CQUniversity student Carlie Sommers is looking forward to a return to international travel more than most, after being named a 2022 New Colombo Plan Scholar to study and intern in Japan next year.

The New Colombo Plan (NCP) is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.

The 2022 Scholars will contribute to re-engagement with the Indo-Pacific with the progressive reopening of international borders and travel.

Female athletes are entitled to continue their sporting careers after having a baby – but Australia’s sporting codes have limited policies to support a woman’s return to sport postpartum.

It’s a gap that peak sport bodies are keen to bridge – and CQUniversity researchers are working with the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) to design best practice guidelines to ensure new mums can continue their sport careers after childbirth. .

PhD researcher Boden Tighe began the three-year project in October 2020 and will work alongside athletes, coaches and  staff, to collaboratively develop postpartum return to sport and competition guidelines for high performance athletes.

Artists Glen Manning and Kathy Daly have been engaged to work with communities in the Far North to establish the Savannah Way Art Trail - a new art trail that will become a drive-tourism drawcard.

Manning Daly Art was one of four shortlisted artists’ who progressed to the concept design phase to execute the project and will now work with six communities along the Savannah Way to create geographically and culturally significant permanent public art pieces.

The New Colombo Plan (NCP) is an Australian Government initiative which aims to deepen Australia’s relationships with the Indo-Pacific by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.

Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/ Bachelor of Environmental Science student Lilia Ben Dekhil will travel to Singapore to learn about its Right to Repair system and then Vanuatu, to assist the island nation in developing its e-waste recovery schemes.

“There was a transition where students, who were graduating, had work they were producing but it was really difficult to get it into the market, particularly if they were doing low volume production.

WBBL sets viewing records on Foxtel and Kayo


The 2021 Weber WBBL|07 regular season has broken viewing records as the most-watched ever season across the Foxtel Group.

Across Foxtel and Kayo viewing was up 32% YoY, with streaming audiences in particular increasing across Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go and Kayo, with a 158% positive shift YoY.
