Public art creates vibrant spaces where people want to engage, interact and reflect. It can be a mechanism to give spaces a sense of identity and can provide inspiration for innovation and ideas. Public art can also play a role in recognising a city's identity and promoting to its heritage and sense of purpose.
We are currently seeking feedback on a Draft Public Art Framework (the Framework) which will help us to identify how we incorporate public art into our open and public
spaces and how works will then contribute to a sense of place and cultural identity. The Draft Public Art Framework 2022-2032 is the corporate document that will guide the community, artists, Council, developers and others when undertaking, acquiring and maintaining public art in West Torrens. It has been developed following dedicated consultation with members of the arts community in West Torrens.
