Arcade games

Drop into the Hamra Centre Library and check out some awesome arcade games, plus challenge your friends to a PlayStation game!

Craft kits

Pick up a craft kit to take home and get creative!
Only one kit per child as supplies are limited. Ask the staff at the Hamra Centre Library, 1 Brooker Terrace, Hilton.

Baby Sensory presented by First Senses 

Join the team from First Senses for a Christmas themed sensory play session with lots of sensory activities for your little one to explore. Exploring the senses of touch, taste, hearing and smell can help build and support nerve connections in the brain’s pathways. Please bring baby wipes, a towel and a change of clothes for both parent and child. We recommend that adults wear older clothes as kids love to put their hands all over you! This is a bare foot event.  

Time: 10am - 11am.  

Venue: West Torrens Auditorium, 1 Brooker Terrace, Hilton.  

Ages: 6 months to 4 years. 

Bookings required - one adult per child’s booking only please.

Beanstack launch party

Celebrate with us as we launch our brand new reading challenge website and app - Beanstack! Learn about Beanstack, sign up for a ‘Summer Reading’ or ‘1001 Books Before School’ challenge, and the listen to a story inside the Nylon Zoo’s inflatable frog!

Baby and Toddler Time with Mel and Mauricio

Christmas movie - Home Alone (PG)

Join us for a classic Christmas movie on the big screen. Eight year old Kevin makes the most of the situation after his family unwittingly leaves him behind when they go on Christmas vacation. But when a pair of bungling burglars set their sights on Kevin’s house, the plucky kid stands ready to defend his territory.

Use your library card to access some fantastic e-resources! Story Box Library, Busy Things, 10 Monkeys and even Kanopy streaming for kids are free for library members.

Activity idea - Play outdoor foosball and table tennis

Get out of the house! Enjoy a game of outdoor foosball and table tennis outside the Hamra Centre Library. Free loan equipment available from the library desk.

Activity idea - visit our Toy Library

Stuck for something to do today? Pop into the library and check out the toys, dress ups, games and sporting equipment we have available for loan. All library members can borrow sporting equipment, however only adult members can borrow toys and games. Membership is free.

Lego animation with GooRoo Animation 

This animation workshop gives you the opportunity to create your own ‘Brick Film’. Learn to build a scene and how to bring it to life using the app Stop Motion Studio. The finished videos will be screened to the group and uploaded to YouTube on the GooRoo Animation Workshops channel to be shared.

Time: 12noon - 3pm.

Thursday 20 January

Claymation with GooRoo Animation

This workshop gives you the opportunity to create your own animated movie. You will design and sculpt characters from plasticine, then bring them to life using the app Stop Motion Studio. Superhero yoga story time presented by Bumblebee Yoga  

In these sessions Bumblebee Yoga will use picture books to help you learn about your brain, feelings and body. Each workshop will involve stories, yoga poses, games and some kid-friendly mindfulness activities. Feel free to come dressed as your favourite superhero.

Online activity idea - geocaching

Have you tried geocaching yet? Geocaching is a fun, outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called ‘geocaches’ at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. 
Recommended for all ages.

Calisthenics combines dance, gymnastics, signing, marching and acting - come and give it a go!
