The fifth Ashes Test at Blundstone Arena represents a great outcome for our local economy and is expected to bring about $27 million worth of economic benefit. This historic test match will also ensure that our State is on the television screens in every cricket-loving nation around the world.
There is a COVID management plan in place for the event and mask-wearing is compulsory. I thank Cricket Tasmania, Cricket Australia, and Public Health for the work they have done to ensure the match can be held in a COVID-safe way.
